Local Heritage Fund
Dungog Council has established a Local Heritage Fund with the support from the NSW Heritage Office.
The aim of this fund is to promote interest in heritage conservation in the Shire both by demonstrating Council’s commitment to this and by encouraging property owners in the conservation of their properties.
The fund will be used to support work aimed at maintaining, repairing, reinstating, protecting, documenting, interpreting and managing heritage significant features of properties that have been listed in the Local Environmental Plan as being heritage items, located in heritage conservation areas, or that have been identified as potential heritage items.
Funding will generally not be available to help with additions, or for projects such as the purchase or relocation of old buildings.
Applications may be made by any ratepayer within the Shire and anyone else who is responsible for managing properties that are in private ownership (ie non-government).
Grants from the Fund must be matched by a contribution of at least 3:1 from the applicant. Applications are now open and Guidelines and Application forms may be obtained from Council’s Administration Officer or downloaded below. Applications will close on Thursday 1st October 2009.
